Why does our transformation equation resonate with so many teams?

Experience has taught us that a clear, concise and compelling strategy has real power to create change. But the impact of strategy is also dependent on two other elements being in place.

The first is a compelling case for change which shows the big shifts in your organisation’s environment – and the new needs and requirements that puts on your organisation. The second is the appetite that your trustees, leadership, staff team and volunteers have for the change you are about to embark on.

Put simply, for transformation to happen, you need:

1. A good strategy - the analytical bit

2. A compelling case for change – an understanding of your environment

3. Appetite – the human motor for change

The good news is that when these three elements come together there is a multiplier effect and transformation starts to happen, even before your strategy is launched. And that is why we work on each of the three through our strategy processes.

We don’t just do the analytical bit – we recognise that strategy is a very human process. We don’t just do the environmental analysis – we recognise that on its own this can feel abstract and overwhelming. And we don’t just do the strategy. We do all three because we know that for deep transformation to happen, all three matter.
